Nov. 9, 2021 – Tuesday – Hi! It’s been a while.

What a couple months! So glad to be where I am today. Cancer free, making art, working for a great company, spending time with friends and family, gardening, and collecting as much cool stuff as I can get my hands on.

I want to try to write every week about art, or life, but sometimes things get busy! Anyhoo…Art Attack in Georgetown at Fogue Studios & Gallery is this Saturday, Nov. 13. I’ll be there 5-7pm. It’s pretty fun to see all the new art and meet new interesting people.

I’m excited to get into the studio and work with all the wonderful things I’ve found in the past couple months. I’m trying to get some of my commission work done, so that I can be free to work on this kind of artwork and of course our sweet friend Sluggo and his friends!

I’m just so tickled that Sluggo & friends cards and original art are selling at Chocolati, Greenwood location. I’ll have my art hanging in the back area until the end of November, so a couple more weeks. It looks great on their deep red walls.

I’ve also recently hung artwork at Makeda and Mingus, another local coffee shop in Greenwood. I have my traveller series there and a couple of pieces that Ryan and I worked on together. Makeda and Mingus is so great about supporting local artists and community. Please check them out…and all the local art they have for sale.

Okay…so this week I’m working on adding Sluggo & friends to my website. They have a tab! And some artwork! I’m introducing characters and learning how to use wordpress. It’s tricky, but I’m having fun. I love learning new things…but if I’m not in here on a regular basis, I feel like it quickly slips away…but I know I’ll be an old pro in the future!

This evening I packed up Coral Reef to send out to it’s forever home!! Very exciting…I really love this piece. I find water and the reefs so amazing and mesmorising, is that how you spell that? Anyways. I’ve packed this encaustic piece up with all my recycled paper and bubblewrap and then built a box around it. It’s a pretty spectacular wrapping job if I do say so myself. Quite the hot potato! I hope they enjoy opening it. (smile)

That’s it for this evening…here is a close up of one of my pieces called Wired.
